The USA is the farthest team in any Olympic badminton event in the men’s doubles quarterfinals at the 2008 Beijing Games.

 

The United States will have seven athletes win the nation’s first Olympic title at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Beiwen Zhang, who suffered a tournament-ending Achilles rupture in the round of 16 at the pandemic-delayed 2020 Tokyo Games, will compete in the women’s singles for the second straight Olympics. Meanwhile, Howard Shu will return to men’s singles after making his debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

 

Five other Team USA athletes will make their Olympics sports doubles debut: twin sisters Annie Xu and Kerry Xu in women’s doubles, Vinson Chiu and Joshua Yuan in men’s doubles, and Vinson Chiu/Jenny Guy in mixed doubles.
