  1. Q) Your reflection on the match, what went wrong?

Sindhu: Yes, it’s sad that I didn’t get the results I expected. I think I should have pulled it out, holding the lead (in Game 3), but had a really good rally and he came back. And overall I can say that it was, it was a very good match.      I mean, it’s a bit disappointing, but there are a lot of positives from this match and the tournament as a whole. I am happy to at least be in the final. I have played well, these matches will definitely give me a lot of confidence.

But, you know, I can win it, it’s not one of those days.

  1. Q) What was the struggle during the 2nd game?

Whoever played on that side of the court was not as comfortable as I was. I gave him huge leads like 16-4, 17-4. It was a really long gap to even cover, and then I kept making mistakes, it was a bit hard to control. In the third game I was on point, doing well. Maybe I should have, you know… 13-8 lead and 11-3 lead, I should have kept.

Overall it’s not my day, I can say, yes.

  1. Q) How do you rebuild after that?

Definitely, reaching the final after a long time is a positive thing. It gives me a lot of confidence. Of course, I go back and see what can be improved and discuss it with my coach. And of course prepare for Singapore, it doesn’t just end with this tournament. So it’s important to come back and maybe just have a day off and then get ready for the next tournament. It’s important that you keep pumping, you keep pushing yourself, you keep encouraging yourself during these low times. All I can do right now.

I mean, it’s frustrating, but it’s also important to just pump yourself up and just focus and relax and prepare for the next tournament.

  1. Q) What do you do to keep yourself happy at such a moment?

It takes some time, a few hours, maybe a day. Maybe have some good food or just relax, don’t worry about the match.
