ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2024 Cricket West Indies (CWI) has assured the security of all teams traveling to the Caribbean islands despite the terror alert emanating from North Pakistan ahead of the World Cup.

It has been reported that pro-Islamic State (IS) groups have launched campaigns to incite violence at major sporting events, including the T20 World Cup.

The threat of terrorism in the T20 World Cup is high
The threat was conveyed by a video from the Afghanistan-Pakistan branch of IS, known as IS-Khorasan (IS-K), which highlights numerous attacks that have taken place in different countries.

Johnny Graves, CEO of CWI responded to this.

Caribbean media reported that the Caribbean island’s government implemented tighter security measures in response to the threat.

According to media reports, the government has assured all stakeholders of the T20 World Cup that security is their top priority.

The government promises a comprehensive and robust security plan to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the event, media reports added.

ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2024 World Cup venue

ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2024 will start from June 1 in USA and West Indies. Major venues in the West Indies include Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

India’s group games are scheduled to be held in the United States, and the second round games will be held in the West Indies.

The major cities hosting the games in the United States are Florida, New York, and Texas. Thankfully, no threats to the games have been reported in the United States.
