Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets : Tanzim, Shariful and Taskin shared nine wickets between them earlier to dismiss Sri Lanka. Bangladesh 257 for 4 (Shant 122*, Mushfiqur Rahim 73*, Madushanka 2-44) beat Sri Lanka 255 (Lianez 67, Mendis 59, Tanzim 3-44, Shariful 3-51, Taskin 3-60) by 6 wickets.

Sri Lanka had no answer to Nazmul  Shantor’s career-best unbeaten 122, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets wicket win in the first ODI in Chittagong. Shanta and Mushfiqur  added 165 runs in an unbroken 5th-wicket partnership as the home side won with 32 balls to spare despite losing 3 early wickets.

Shanto was well supported by Mushfiqur with his 49th half-century, allowing the Bangladesh captain to dominate Sri Lanka. At one point the pair went through 60 deliveries without hitting a boundary but could not stay ahead of their required rate. for this  Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets. which make proud Bangladesh cricket fans.

Shanto hit most of his boundaries in front of the wicket, his best shot, a scorcher through the covers, helping him reach his 2nd ODI century. shanto  also delivered the winning run to Mahesh Thekshana at cover region. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets

The fourth wicket partnership of Shanto-Mahmudullah saw an immediate recovery. Mahmudullah riad  went after Madhushanka in the 9th over, drove him through cover twice and then brushed it over point. After Shanto top-edged Lahiru Kumara for his first six, Mahmudullah too blasted Wanindu Hasranga for his first six in the next over. which also help Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets

Earlier, the Bangladesh trio of Tanzim Hasan Shakib, Shariful Islam and Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets each, making it only the 2nd time that Bangladeshi fast bowlers have taken nine or more wickets in a home ODI. Reaching 255, Sri Lanka got their openers off to a better start with half-centuries from Zenith Lienage and skipper Kusal Mendis.but Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets .

Sri Lanka, however, fought with the new ball. Dilshan sent Liton Das back on the first ball, taking Madushanka to the stumps. Soumya  fell when Madhushanka took a direct catch at square leg in the 2nd over. Pramod Madushan then joined the team, removing Touhid Hriday’s off-stump with a  good outswinger as Bangladesh slumped to 23 for 3 in the  6 th over. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets

But Mahmudullah’s downfall was swift. Shortly after showing signs of cramp, Mahmudullah mistimed a hoik towards deep midwicket where Madushanka took a superb catch with a full-length dive to his left.

At 92 for 4, Sri Lanka might have hoped for another opening, but they failed to make any further inroads as the dew didn’t help them either. Shanta and Mushfiq hit 6 boundaries in the first 7 overs. Mushfiq starts with a sweep at square leg, takes Shanta Madushan down the ground and pulls him quickly. Shanta soon completed his 50  off 51 balls.

While Shanto and Mushfiq  Rahim didn’t get boundaries, they still kept the scoreboard ticking. Mushfiqur hit a boundary in the 33rd over that broke the shackles as he slog-swept Hasranga for a straight 4 before reverse-sweeping it.

In the 35th over, Shanto opened the pad of Mushfiqur and swept it to midwicket to complete his half-century for the pair’s century. Bangladesh did not take time to cross the limit in 44.4 overs.

In the afternoon, Pathum Nisanka and Avishka Fernando got Sri Lanka off to a thrilling start, adding 71 runs in 9.5 overs for the opening wicket. The pair hit ten fours and two sixes between them in Chittagong. Nisanka hit a couple of his fours at mid-off when Fernando Squire brilliantly threaded it to the off-side field.

However, Tanjim left Sri Lanka behind. He made the break by removing both Nisanka and Fernando in the next over and adding Sadira Samarawickrama in the next over. He had Fernando and Samarawickrama caught, while Nisanka tried to slip off the toe as Sri Lanka slumped from 71 for 1 to 84 for 3.

Bangladesh’s pacers came back towards the end, especially Taskin and Shariful who did not allow the Sri Lankan batsmen to settle down. Tanzim was unable to add to his initial burst of three wickets due to a brief injury. Mehdi Hasan took the other wicket of the fall with a beautiful offbreak to Mirage’s left-armer Charith Asalanka.
