Ireland posted a competitive 178, inspired by stand-in captain Lorcan Tucker’s 41-ball 73.But Babar and Rizwan, indeed, made light work of a low total and another sluggish Temple bowling performance. The result was out of doubt long before Ireland’s fielding effort cost them the winning runs.

Shaheen got his first wicket in that period, but Hasan Ali conceded 16 runs in his first over as Andy Balbirnie and Tucker began to make up for lost time. Pakistan’s bowling plan fell apart slightly on 49 eventful deliveries, with Ireland’s second wicket pair plundering 85, seemingly building a score close to 200 themselves.

His four overs yielded a miserly 14 runs and took three wickets as his teammates surrounded him. Tucker got out against a generally tidy Imad Wasim and those who followed didn’t come close to picking up where they left off.
Ireland managed just 49 runs from the last seven as Pakistan faded and lost momentum.

The most important blow for Pakistan was the poor run of Saim Ayub. But they thrived in the midfield chase, with Rizwan and Babar taking full advantage, Babar putting himself to bed and Rizwan lighting up the powerplay.Babar and Rizwan won the series against Ireland.

After punishing the mistake in the second game, Shaheen hit back with Hazar Surya. The first over was ordinary as Balbirnie picked him up with two boundaries, but Shaheen hit a six in almost every one of his remaining 18 deliveries, conceded six more runs and took three wickets.

Most impressive was his ability to match yorkers under command, primarily using inswing to break Ross Adair’s stumps. His final two overs were a display of speed and finesse, as Ireland’s momentum stalled and Shaheen closed out the series with a performance that could see him return to his old, world-shattering pace.

Babar– power heater?

Confusion over who should bat in Pakistan’s top four – and in what order – was exacerbated by the somewhat surreal 14th over of Pakistan’s chase. Babar, a man often accused of being frivolous with his batting intentions, hit six sixes in an over off the hapless Ben White.

Three gentle, looping deliveries were dispatched with aplomb, and when Babar missed the fourth flat, he hit the next six down the ground. His strike rate increased to 25 runs in that over.

After a somewhat slow start to an innings, where Dockrell bowled a simple chance, Babar was on his way to 19 off 16 balls. Instead, he hit sixes like the rest of his teammates. Combined.

Tucker’s slowness after the powerplay also ensured that he never fully materialized against spin, highlighted by Saim Ayub’s victim in the tenth over. He took advantage of Pakistan’s curious decision not to bowl Imad in the first ten.
