The Australian Open 2024 Badminton BWF Super 500 tournament begins on Tuesday at the State Sports Center in Sydney.
The home stop of the BWF World Tour 2024 will have a heavy presence of Australian badminton players. Three Paris 2024 Olympic-bound Aussie shuttlers – Tiffany Ho, Angela Yu and Setiana Mapasa – will be seen in action in Sydney.
Angela Yu and Setiana Mapasa, who will pair up for the women’s doubles competition at Paris 2024, are the fourth seeds at the Australian Open.
The Australian pair, who are also the Oceania champions, recently had a fruitful outing at the Singapore Open and the world No. 3 Japanese pair of Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida managed to extend their round of 16 to three games before a narrow defeat. match.
