Arsenal vs Luton Town

The Gunners are in the title race again, and will hope to go all the way this year. However, their chances took a bit of a hit as they lost their place at the top of the table as they drew 0-0 with Man City, albeit a good result. Before the weekend, they held top spot, but after Liverpool’s win as well as dropping points, Jurgen Klopp’s side are now in the driving seat. The draw against City snapped an 8 game winning streak in the league. A win against Luton would continue an impressive unbeaten run and keep them within touching distance of the top. Anything other than a win will further damage their hopes.

At the other end, Luton are fighting to retain top flight status for the second consecutive season. They missed a huge chance to pick up an unlikely result at Tottenham, but squandered a 2-1 lead. All the teams around them except Everton picked up points, making the result even more disappointing.

They also scored 36 goals, the most by all three teams. The visitors let in 36 on the road, more than anyone in the league, meaning they could have a very long evening. They should have several attacking players in their defence, particularly Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, who have combined for 21 men. Tahit Chong has emerged as a serious attacking threat, with three of his four goals coming in the last five games.

This season marks the first time the two sides have met in a competition since 1991, ending a run of eight consecutive games in the old Division One. The reverse fixture was a thriller earlier this campaign as Arsenal edged it out 4-3 at Kenilworth Road. Gabriel Martinelli led the visitors although this was quickly overruled by Gabriel Osho. Gabriel Jesus restored the advantage on the stroke of half-time but Luton responded again through Elijah Adebayo. The hosts took their 1st lead when Ross Barkley put them ahead, but Havertz equalised. Declan Rice then scored in the 97th minute to seal the three points.

Arsenal vs Luton Town: Form Guide

Arsenal vs Luton Town: Arsenal

Arsenal have won four and drawn one of their last five matches. They are in a fierce battle for the title, with their most recent game being the most important they have left when they visit champions Manchester City. The game ended goalless as the points were shared.

Their last game before the international break was in the Champions League as they beat Porto 4–2 on penalties to reach the quarter-finals. It was a nervy night as the Gunners knew they had to overturn their 1st leg deficit. They went into the break a goal down after Leandro Trossard broke the deadlock. They did not find another goal in the rest of regulation or extra time to send the game to spot kicks. David Raya was the hero as he saved 2 penalties.

This followed a narrow 2-1 win over Brentford. Raya missed out with Aaron Ramsdale starting as he was unable to face his parent club. The Englishman had a half to forget, though, as he made a horrendous mistake to allow Yone Wisa to score, canceling out Declan Rice’s early opener. The game was destined for a draw, but Kai Havertz found the net in the 86th minute to secure another win for his side.

It was a far less impressive performance than their previous display, where they demolished Sheffield United 6-0 away from home. They were 3-0 up on 15 minutes and five at half-time. Apart from a Jayden Bogle own goal, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Havertz, Rice and Ben White all got on the scoresheet. An impressive outing against Newcastle led to a 4-1 win at the Emirates. Sven Botman converted into his own net before Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Jakub Kivio tacked on three more. Former Gunner Joe Willock offered consolation.

Arsenal vs Luton Town: Luton

Luton have drawn two and lost three of their last five matches. It was a winless run for Luton, but they will be disappointed not to pick up more points and wins along the way. Their most recent game was a 2-1 loss to Tottenham. They took an early lead through Tahit Chong but could not hold on as Issa Kabore’s own goal and Heung-min Son’s strike turned away. It drew 1-1 at home to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest.

Perhaps their most shocking game of the season was a 4–3 defeat at Bournemouth. In a replay after the original game was abandoned in December, they found themselves 3–0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Chong, Chiidoji Ogbene and Ross Barkley. Dominic Solanke gave the Cherries an immediate response after the break, before Elia Zabarni pulled another one back. The comeback was almost complete as Antoine Semenyo equalized. Semenyo grabbed his brace with six minutes remaining to complete the historic turnaround.

Another drop came at Crystal Palace, a point away, and a late goal decided the result. Seemingly headed for defeat, the Hatters scored in the 96th minute to share the points through Cowley Woodrow. The first game of this stretch was a 3–2 home loss to Aston Villa, where they fell behind 2–0 to goals from Chong and Carlton Morris, only for Lucas Digne to score the winner with a minute remaining.

Arsenal vs Luton Town: Footy Accumulator Prediction

Luton are in desperate need of some points after being given away in recent weeks, but Arsenal’s dominance is expected to keep the quest for victory going. The Gunners are almost impossible to stop at home, and it will be how many they score. The Hatters may threaten, but Arsenal will be too much for them – Arsenal 4-0 Luton.
