First meeting in UEFA competition- AC Milan vs Roma
There are 8 teams left in the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League and 3 of them are Italian teams (AC Milan vs Roma). In an all-Italian quarter-final match, AC Milan took on AS Roma. This is their first meeting in UEFA competition but the two sides have already met in Serie A this season.
The Rossoneri are in great form, as they are on a seven game winning streak. Roma are also on a high after their win over Lazio in the derby della capital. Ahead of Thursday’s first leg at the San Siro, we examine the AC Milan vs Roma odds.
AC Milan vs Roma head to head
This is the 3rd meeting between AC Milan and Roma this season. In January, Milan won 3–1 in Serie A. Yassin Adly, Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez were on the scoresheet for the Rossoneri.

Milan are scoring comfortably
AC Milan won their seventh consecutive UEL game, in all competitions, when they beat Lecce 3-0 in Serie A on Saturday. Christian Pulisic scored his 10th Serie A goal of the season with a left-footed strike, while Olivier Giroud doubled the lead with a header before half-time.
Rafael Leao added to the Rossoneri’s third and second-placed Milan look as if they will cruise into the Champions League next season.
Leo has picked things up over the last few months and he has registered three goals and two assists in his last three games. Milan also easily defeated Slavia Prague in the round of 16, with a 7–3 aggregate win.
Former Chelsea player Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were on the scoresheet in both matches against Slavia Prague. Since being relegated from the Champions League to the UEL, Milan’s Europa League stats have been quite impressive. In four matches, they averaged three goals per game and scored at least twice in each outing.
Out of the Coppa Italia and behind Inter Milan in Serie A, the Europa League presents a great opportunity to win a trophy for Stefano Pioli’s men. They currently sit at +600 to win the UEL, which is certainly not a terrible bet, given that they are just one year removed from the Champions League semi-finals.
On Thursday, betting defenders Pierre Kalulu and Malik Thiao will miss out through injury, along with midfielder Tommaso Pobega.
Roma eventually win the derby
Going into Saturday’s Derby della Capitale vs Lazio, AS Roma have not scored against their rivals since March 2022. Gianluca Mancini changed that as he headed home a corner for the only goal of the game.
In his first derby as coach, Daniele De Rossi’s side posed a major threat and stayed in the Champions League race with the win. Roma have kept three straight clean sheets going into Thursday’s game.
The Giallorossi have had their ups and downs in the UEL this football season. They finished second in the Group G Europa League standings, behind Slavia Prague.
Roma beat Feyenoord on penalties in the play-off round after the two drew 1-1. In the Round of 16, Roma fueled their attacking potential with a 4–0 first leg win over Brighton where Mancini, Paulo Dybala and Bryan Cristiant all got on the scoresheet.
De Rossi managed to rest Lukaku and Dybala in the second leg, which Roma lost 1–0. The Giallorossi have won just one of their last four matches in the Europa League but their defensive efforts have been impressive in the end.
Mile Swiller has done a solid job in goal since being promoted to the starting XI. Here, Housem Ouar and Sardar Azmoun are out due to injury/illness, while center back Ivan N’Dika is suspended.
AC Milan vs Roma Match Analysis and Odds
Roma N’Dika was also suspended for the derby match and De Rossi could go with Diego Llorente in the center again. Regardless, AC Milan vs Roma odds list hosts Milan as -125 favorites and they have won four of their last six games vs Roma at the San Siro.
Also, AC Milan are unbeaten in their last nine against the Giallorossi. Nevertheless, Roma have revived under De Rossi and reached European finals in each of the last two campaigns under Jose Mourinho.
They play proudly in the Europa League but are +360 underdogs for Thursday’s first leg. A draw (+260) would be a great result for Roma and not the end of the world for the Rossoneri.
